Hello my beautiful readers!
I just wanted to start with saying thanks so much for your patience! Its been a busy month, and its not slowing down at all, but I am going to find more time to work on my blog cause talking to you guys is one of my favorite things!! I spent the a week on vacation in California. I was planning on posting a diary of my travels every day, but I realized that being in the hot sun, standing and walking for 12+ hours every day, makes you just wanna sleep when you have downtime, so I finally decided I would just put everything into one jumbo post! So here you go!
Tuesday October 3, 2017
Let me just tell you 4:15 a.m. is really early. Like REALLY Early. But I was pretty excited so after I was awake for a few minutes I felt better. I woke up Tuesday morning with a sore throat, and I automatically was irritated because I had been waiting for months for this trip I did’nt want to be sick on vacation. I decided either way, that I had to make the most of it, so I took some medicine and got ready for the day. I live across the street from my Aunt and Uncle, and that is who I went to California with. So once I was ready I said goodbye to my parents and walked across the street.
The flight was at 6:30 a.m. and we had a connecting flight from Boise, ID, to Oakland, CA, to Burbank, CA. We took an Uber to the car rental place, and picked up some family friends, and we were off to Universal Studios Hollywood. My cousin Makynlee, and her friend Katie are both in love with Harry Potter, just like me, so we spent a large majority of that day in Harry Potter World. We rode the rides multiple times, and took a lot of pictures, and we drank Butterbeer galore.
As much as I love Harry Potter, The Mummy was still my favorite part about Universal. It’s a dark fast roller coaster, more my style. There wasn’t anything in Universal that I didn’t love. Every single aspect of the park was put together very well.
That night we went into City-walk for dinner and met a family friend who used to live in Idaho and had recently moved. We got Voodoo Doughnuts for the next days breakfast and then headed off to MargaritaVille

On Wednesday morning we woke up fairly early and ate our doughnuts. Let me tell you that Voodoo Doughnuts are a highly recommended 10/10. Not only is a really cool experience, but they’re so freaking good!! After we ate our doughnuts we got ready and headed out to the park. The first thing we did when we got there, was the studio backlot tour, where we got to see the set of movies such as: jaws, King Kong, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, big fat liar, and many more. We also got to see the original cars from: Back to the Future, Fast and the Furious, Jurassic World, etc. That was a really cool experience for me and I am very grateful to have been able to see that. After the tour we took some pictures with the Simpsons and Simpson statues..
Then it was ride time! We made it a fun thing, to try to pose for the camera on the rides. So we would always ride the rides at least twice so we knew where the camera was. We succeeded with making some pretty funny pictures! We rode The Mummy, and Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey too many times to count, and I thought that it was quite amusing that every time we went on the Harry Potter ride on wednesday, it would break down for 30 seconds to a minute. Every. Single. Time.
We had lunch at The Three Broomsticks, and I had shepherds pie
We talked with Shreck and Donkey, and my cousin Makynlee and I adopted puffs.
As the day went on, we went to the special effects shows, the water world show, both of which were really cool, and interesting to see in person. We just went about our day enjoying it till about 6 o’clock, until our feet hurt, and we were hungry, and had an hour and a half car ride ahead of us so we left, and got ready to go to Anaheim. Let me tell you, an hour and a half car ride with 8 people in a 7 person minivan going down the freeway in California, is definitely an experience on its own, but its also not very comfortable.

DISNEYLAND!!!!! Okay, I personally was very excited about disneyland because I hadn’t been there since I was really little the last time I was there, and I didnt remember it at all. So of course going to disneyland my senior year, will always be a trip ill remember, and I was pumped. ANYWAYS… lets get with it so I don’t bore you with the details of my disneyless childhood (Even though this is a lie cause even as a little kid I was obsessed with disney).
We got up at around 6:15 and got ready for character breakfast, mind you 6:15 California time is 5:15 Idaho time, so Kalin and I were pretty slow to wake up. But we got with it and we were ready for the day. We got to the park,
and the character breakfast started around 7:30, and we were all really excited to take pictures with the characters and eat a really really really good breakfast, and thats saying something cause I’m not a big breakfast person, (even though I knowI should be). We met Eyore, Tigger, Chip, Dale, Max, Captian Hook, Fairy Godmother, and more. After breakfast we fast passed space mountain, and boy was that fun. I love fast roller coasters so that was definitely my favorite ride.
Disneyland was so much fun, we rode a lot of rides, and waited in a lot of lines, and took
a LOT of pictures, but I’m not complaining cause it gives me something to share here with you guys, cause sometimes my words aren’t enough to give you the full experience.
We met other characters too, like Pluto, and Mickey Mouse, and Goofy. We watched the disneyland parade, and saw floats like The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins, and many many more. The parade was cool, but we didnt really mean to watch it, you see we were
trying to cross the road, but we couldn’t cause the parade was going on, so we sat as close as we could to the ride Its a Small World, and we were trying hard to cross that street the second the parade was over. As soon as it was over we rushed across and our group of eight was mixed through people
in to groups of two or three, and we finally found our way together, in line for its a small world.
Okay now lets talk about Splash Mountain, I was terrified. Why would you make a ride with no seatbelt, and an open top, thats going to drop 50 feet. But halfway through it we went on some test drops and it made me feel a lot better, and then right after the drop,
katie turned around and said soaking wet in the most distressed voice, “I don’t like that
one” and we all busted up laughing, because for the last couple days she laughed at us when we would freak out about getting wet on water rides and she would tell us “Oh quit being crybabies.” so our initial reaction was “Oh Katie don’t be a crybaby” and then the ride was over, and my aunt gets out in the cart after ours, soaking wet, and for the rest of the day, her clothes were so wet that she could wring herself out.
There is so much fun we had this day that I can’t even write about it all cause it would be as long as a Harry Potter book. But I’m just gonna add the last part of the day besides dinner, that I absolutely love. We took cute pictures infant of the castle, and with cute balloons, and my cousin Kalin and I were really excited about taking these pictures.

California adventures. I was especially excited about this because I’m a sucker for big rollercoasters, and there was a ton of them at California adventures. Our favorite rides as a group, and for me personally, were the Guardians of the Galaxy ride, and the big rollercoaster ride. Let me start by saying that the Guardians of the Galaxy ride is the old tower of terror with new decorations, and it was so much fun. I was really scared at first but it was not really scary at all. The big California Adventure Rollercoaster was such a fun ride. It went high and low, and fast, and upside down and sideways, and right and left and it was so much fun! We rode both of these probably 10 times each. It was such a hot day on Friday that we did pretty much anything we could think of to get out of the heat. Ice Cream, Water, and Air Conditioned rides. It was so much fun.

We went home on Saturday, so it was pretty laid back. We went to downtown disney and shopped for a few hours, cause everyone wanted to get some souvenirs. At about 11 we got in the car and drove to the airport. We got home about 8 o’clock Idaho time.
I just wanted to thank my aunt and uncle for bringing me with them to California I had such a great time. Also I wanted to thank you all for being patient because its been a while since I posted.
You’re all the best,
