Most Memorable Childhood Christmas!

Welcome to my Blog! Whether you are a new reader, or you have been keeping up with my posts for a while, hello, my name is Ali and I am so happy to have you here! We are currently in a series called blogmas, today is day 20! That means we are 5 days away from christmas. It is so weird this year, that it doesn’t feel like we are so close to christmas, because I am still in school! Our last day is tomorrow, but for the previous years, at my old high school, we got out of school the week prior to this week so I feel very weird not being out of school yet! Today I want to talk about one of my most memorable christmases from my childhood. Lets be honest, when were younger we loved christmas, but as we grew up, we forgot the the christmases that we loved.

When I was younger, probably around five, my grandparents lived in Idaho Falls, and we went to visit them for christmas. I was very worried that Santa wasn’t going to be able to find us there, because we weren’t at our house. My parents reassured me that Santa would still come even though we weren’t at our house.

We left cookies and milk out for Santa Claus, and we left sparkle oats out in the snow, for the reindeer.

That year my grandma had a poem, that I’m pretty sure was attached to something but I don’t know for sure, and the poem went like this:

I made myself a snowball, as perfect as can be. I thought id keep it as a pet and let it sleep with me. I made it some pajamas, and a pillow for its head. Then last night it ran away, but first it wet the bed.

-Shel Silverstein

I don’t know why exactly that was relevant, but I specifically remember that detail, so I figured I would share it.

That night my cousin Abi and I slept on the floor in the office, and my grandma had made us pillowcases that were christmas themed, and they had our names on it. We put the pillowcases on our pillows, and we went to bed. Later that night we woke up, and heard Santa Claus on the roof, and walking through the house.

When I woke up the next morning, one of the memorable presents that I got, was a baby doll. I got a few baby dolls, and there are two that I remember. The first was a baby that talked and ate and pooped, and the other babydoll was a newborn baby that was still in its outfit from the hospital, and it still had the bracelet on its wrist.

Thanks so much for reading!

Question of the day:

What was your most memorable Christmas?

Thank you so much for reading! Don’t forget you’re amazing, and you mean the world to me!
